Promise of Medicine — Brand Identity
Johns Hopkins embraces a rich legacy grounded in philanthropy, diversity, inclusion, and a commitment to innovation. For over 125 years, since the establishment of Johns Hopkins Hospital and the founding of Johns Hopkins University, it has driven significant advancements that have shaped the medical field into what it is today. However, the visual identity felt outdated and failed to match its prestigious reputation.
In the course of an awareness campaign in Maryland area, the concept “The Promise of Medicine” emerged, setting the framework for a brand refresh. The previously dominant dark blue and yellow shades in the visual collateral were replaced with a fresh design featuring ample white space and a more inviting color palette that conveys serenity and optimism. The imagery now focuses on simplicity and everyday moments, radiating positivity. Messaging was also refined to be direct and straightforward, yet infused with sophistication.
