Mixed Bakehouse

For my BFA capstone project, I created Mixed, a personal exploration of culture through the art of baking. Baking has always been a passion of mine. For this project, I set out to answer the question:

How can I teach myself and others about different cultures by sharing the experience of baking their traditional pastries? I selected eight unique dishes from around the world, baked each one, and documented the process with photography.

In addition to baking the pastries, I designed custom packaging for each dish to reflect its unique cultural origins, I also created business cards, trading cards, a zine-style cookbook, and seasonal menus.

Above is our main menu, featuring a selection of baked goods from around the world. We also offer a variety of beverages to complement your sweet treat.

Social media plays a crucial role for Mixed, helping us spread the word about our bakehouse and foster a connection with our community.
