Universal Yums Tasting Adventures

It was a true pleasure to work with Universal Yums to design the packaging for their Tasting Adventures snack boxes. Each box takes you across a gourmet journey through a particular country around the world and features a trove of snacks and candy from that region. So many treats to discover!

Drawing inspiration from each countries culture and architecture, we illustrated storefront houses for each box creating a complete set that all together forms a diverse town. We aimed to match the vibe of each country focusing on color choices, custom lettering and a specific style to the illustration. By utilizing the brands well known blue PMS color, we were able to incorporate brand awareness on each box that ties the entire set together. A consistent layout and grid system allowed us to organize the information, snack and food photography and stay on brand for each country. Color pallete swaps and different artwork on the boxes allow each country to stand alone and be noticeably different yet uniquely part of a set. The consistent design work grounds the boxes when side by side on the shelf and is quickly identifiable to the customer which country they are buying snacks from.   

The lettering hand drawn by Jeremy Friend, sets the overall tone of the packaging. Each style of type was custom drawn with the countries culture in mind. These wordmarks elevate the packaging and bring a complete sense of homeland origin to each box. Drawn by hand, vectorized in Adobe Illustrator.
