Statue Detail

Detail from a photograph in an extended edit from an upcoming book where I am having difficulty treating the extreme differences in contrast. The solution is often either subtle adjustments of tone — and tone affects the mood of the entire image — or moving on to another photograph altogether while letting the difficult one sit a while. The subconscious then works the problem, and together with fresh eyes, decides.

My feeling is that the photograph this detail comes from won't make it, as the statues are more interesting than the real people in it.

These are the two types of editing I often struggle with.
