Retro Film Posters: Space Film / Comedy Series
Exploring typeface options, weight and composition, and balancing imagery with key movie themes.
Re-creating my friend's favourite flicks and series – retro vibes only. Focusing solely on monochromatic schemes creates more emphasis on typography choices and layout.
Space Film, "Star Wars"
This poster in particular was the least challenging one to produce – I had a specific vision of how it should respect its original cinematic aesthetic and emphasis on the franchise/sequel number. Found imagery of character's faces fit seamlessly into this type of layout. The only challenge was placement and balance.
Comedy Series, "Silicon Valley"
Past iterations of this poster edition included an isolated image that represented different characters paired with their best quotes. This approach would work well in a series dedicated to the show, but ultimately opted to include all the main characters of the incubator to better represent the diverse and hilarious characters.
