Mar R., the founder of TEAM Hair & Makeup™, is a bridal beauty stylist based in California, USA. With 25 years in the business and her work featured in Vogue, US Magazine, and People, Mar has overseen 4,000 weddings, worked with celebrities like Tom Hanks, collaborated with leading brands such as Nike, and participated in numerous red-carpet events. Leading her award-winning teams in Santa Barbara and San Francisco, Mar continues to reshape the bridal beauty industry. Her passion shines through in every bride she works with, ensuring each one elegance and confidence as they walk down the aisle.
Project Brief
The project focused on crafting a sleek and clean portfolio that beautifully highlights Mar's work.
The goal was to create a portfolio that’s both bold and beautifully understated, defined by oversized images, airy, refined fonts, and a sleek palette of white, gray, and black. The design’s minimal, modern feel prioritizes her work, with ample breathing room and visuals that make a statement. To enhance the browsing experience, we added gentle animations and interactive touches, creating a seamless journey through her portfolio that feels both immersive and effortless.
Portfolio Pages
The portfolio pages were intentionally designed to embrace simplicity, focusing on large, impactful images. Mar wanted a clean, minimal look that let her work speak for itself. The design keeps things simple, highlighting visuals over text, with an easy flow between projects that lets you browse her portfolio naturally and without interruption.
The Mega Menu
To align with the site’s strong visual emphasis, we chose a mega menu over a standard dropdown for displaying portfolio categories.This approach brings the menu to life, using images instead of text to represent each category, mirroring the portfolio layout on the homepage. Each visual element serves as a captivating introduction to the different aspects of Mar's work, providing an immediate visual connection that engages users right from the start.
