Premiere League Logo Reinterpretation

THIS IS A REBOUND (so to say - the concept and design is not mine).

The new logo for the Premiere League came out (you can see it in the attachment) and honestly there were some minor tweaks that I think got lost in the wind, so I thought why not make them my self.

I didn't fancy the crown, it was unfinished and sloppy so I tried to incorporate the soccer ball pattern in the pieces of the crown thus giving it a more royal look.

The ear was to childish and it was braking the mane's flow so I made it smaller and more compact keeping it inside the lion's mane.

I also put the initials one on top of the other keeping the initial form of the typography and changed the typeface used from a geometric grotesque to a sans-serif .

This is my take on it, just played around a little.
