New vector illustration of a red-haired witch, created in Adobe Illustrator during my workshop! 🌿🧙‍♀️

During the class, my students and I discussed the fluidity of movement in a static pose, stylization, artistic interpretation and how to effectively use references.

Reference, palette and shapes

I based the color palette on the reference image, selecting a harmonious mix of green, beige, and orange tones to create a magical atmosphere ✨ I also worked on refining the shapes and adding gradients. The most challenging part of this work was avoiding over-detailing and keeping the flat style consistent throughout the illustration. Swipe to see the progress >>

The entire illustration was created in Adobe Illustrator, demonstrating how you can use a reference to create a vibrant cartoon character and capture its personality through simple shapes and colors.
