Role: Designer
Project: Logo Design
I rarely look back at something I’ve created and still feel satisfied with it, but this logo is an exception. I sketched it by hand and then vectorized it in Illustrator on my brand new Ruby Red iMac (that’s your first hint as to how far back in time I was looking). I aimed for a design that combined seriousness, fun, and education into one engaging logo. Did I mention I was in design school at the time?
Using basic shapes—circle, square, triangle—represented learning your ABCs. It hinted at school and served as a reminder of the fundamentals, representing a strong starting point for students. Then there's the yellow...at least, that's what I can remember of the project.
I learned a lot while designing this logo, but enjoying the process had to be the biggest takeaway. That, and when you love what you do, it shows.
