The Grand Inquisitor - Part II
Russia during the ideological transition from Church to State - where Russia was becoming more secular like the West. Russian intelligentsia and students favoured the change. But many traditionalists wanted Russia to stay religious etc.
And so three brothers are brought up in a Russian village during this sort of era and we follow their lives. One brother is a devout monk. One brother is a sort of atheist scholarly type. One brother is a sort of solider who is struggling between being holy and vulgar etc.
And the story follows their lives and really tells of a struggle between faith and faithlessness, religion and atheism, love and hate, good and evil etc.
It is a dark story - exploration of darker side of humanity - but also a story of love and religiousness!
