City2Surf - Logo & Branding

In 2020 the design team at IRONMAN were tasked with rebranding our largest event globally. With over 80,000 runners participating in Sydney each year, City2Surf is 14km fun run that encourages dressing up, partying with mates and raising money for charity.

The brief was to freshen up the logo and give the brand the energy that matches the event. My solution was this concept that initially seemed too simple, however the bold design paired well with the business of the images used in marketing. I also developed a suite of illustrations based on the fun characters that run the course, which I later animated on loops to add to digital assets.

Once the new brand was finalised, there was a lot of work to do to update everything for such a large event. Here are some examples of the new look digital and print marketing assets, merchandise and signage.
