Personal Branding
Old year, new rebranding!
Someone recently asked me why, among my three surnames, I use “Ramos” after “Douglas”. As usual, I gave a ready answer: “it’s simply my first name followed by my last name”. The fact is that this time, answering this question again made me think: did I make the right choice even after almost 15 years? A quick Google search showed that I definitely didn’t. Douglas Ramos is ridiculously common. It’s the name of the father of a soccer star (Endrick), a plastic surgeon in Omaha, a criminal, an unfriendly old man in Twitter (X) and countless other people around the world.
So, because I had the option of using a more unique and personal surname to distance myself from many things that have nothing to do with design, I finally decided to adopt Batezeli and, in addition, gain a better justification for my choice. Of course this required a mini rebranding, which I didn't complain about at all, since it was a really fun exercise and I hope it pleases a lot of people as it (still) pleases me. :)
