Enjoyed by more than one million users on Facebook and with more than one billion virtual bet placed online, the app is available for download on both Google Play and Apple Store. It was also extended to Casino gaming machines across all over Mexico.

About the Project

As the creative Director on the project, I was assigned to create and come up with a new design of a range of online Slot machines that players would use real money to bet online, winning cash prizes. I started from scratch as there was no templates available or nothing built before by developers within the company. The task itself was challenging and overwhelming as it was my first try at designing online slot machines.. Moreover additional requirements by the company made it more tough for the design process as the slot machine would be totally customizable and should be delightful and engaging. The slot customization changes its look and feel to seasonal weather patterns such as Summer & Winter.

Research and Iteration Process

I started researching everything about slot machines online and assimilated the concept of how it worked, breaking down it's initial visual composition and build. I dissected each elements to be built as visual components that would be sent to developers, worked on the branding features for the company and went through a well thought but difficult process about making it fully customizable for users by applying a technique called skinning to the components. Designed all the UX elements and assembled a color palette and visual type for the slot machine. Many iterations were done and reviewed before setting on the final one.

Design Highlights

The main structure of the Slot machine was designed in Photoshop and the spinning icons were sent to be animated in Adobe Animate as a reference for developers to later code the animation. Extreme attention to colors, highlights, gradient and shadows was done, added sound layers to make it more visually engaging. The next step was the most difficult one, translating it to numerous digital mobile platforms. Spent a crazy amount of time adjusting it on each platforms to be sleek and working seamlessly.

Final Results

An extremely gorgeous user interface, sleek, engaging with beautiful sound hints and completely customizable by the players. It translate seamlessly to different platforms, tablet, mobile and desktop and provide a wealth of information in real-time for the user. The app was a complete hit and the company revenues was boosted and went up.
