Brain+ — Health in An Aging Society

Brain Health Platform

By the year 2050, it is estimated that around 153 million people will be living with dementia worldwide. Despite the exponential growth in dementia cases, some countries may experience a decrease in dementia incidence due to their focus on health promotion and education. To address this growing concern, I developed a concept for a health information platform called Brain+. The mission of Brain+ is to provide the general public with evidence-based information on brain health and related topics to help improve health literacy and enhance quality of life.

Biopsychosocial—Three Dimensions of Health

Based on my case study about health communication between patients and their physicians in a clinic, patients and their caregivers require health information in three dimensions: biological, psychological, and social, which correspond to medical information, mental state, and life situation, respectively. Brain+ supports individuals on their health journey, whether they are caring for their health or that of a loved one. It is designed to provide a holistic perspective on life with neurodegenerative diseases and offers comprehensive support for various situations.

Encouraging Patient Participation

Better health outcomes can be achieved when individuals and their physicians make health decisions as a team. Brain+ is an online platform that makes information about brain health accessible to the general public. It provides evidence-based, easy-to-understand health information to encourage the public to actively participate in their healthcare process.
