Gisa - General Insurance Statistic app
Overview
GISA promotes the timeliness of statistical data collection, analysis and reporting mechanisms, adding quality and value to statistical data generated by licensed insurers in Canada. It mainly acts as a full insurance data provider to all insurance companies located in Canada. GIsa wanted to launch its own mobile app, mostly a dashboard kind of style with live data that insurers would be able to access easily, consult and make decisions. Simply put, the mobile apps collects all data pertaining to insurance from different 3rd party companies and re-assemble and compile all info in one place, where user are able to gain access and look at the data.
22,611
This app was design to reach approximately 22,611 Insurance Brokers & Agencies businesses in Canada that would utilize it to gather important and real-time statistics and any other related information from Insurance data compiled.
My Role
Lead UI/UX Designer

Software: Figma
About the Project
To work on this request, IBM assembled a team of dedicated developers to work on the project, I was assigned to assist and deliver UI/UX designs and support to the team. The idea was to have a responsive website that would translate easily on the mobile app. After discussion and several team meetings with the developers and other stakeholders, we agreed to build a dashboard style of app with live active visual components that would keep the insurers always connected and updated on the most recent changes.
Wireframing and Prototyping Process
Research and Iteration Process
I started the research on sleek Dashboard designs. After several wireframe iterations and many team meetings with the agile team developers, we settled on one of the wireframe which I then turned into a high-fidelity prototype. I then proceeded to inject the company's branding into the design, colors, Typography and iconography. Worked closely with the developers to define direction and design of visual components, design tokens and re-usable coding components.
Design Highlights
One of the request submitted was to have a menu on the left which when click would act like a "progressive disclosure" and slide to open, the task was easily done on Desktop but difficult to replicate on mobile platforms based on the coding software the developers were using. I managed to sit down with the team and find a solution to the problem. We ended up having a sleek and modern sliding menu working very well on both platforms.

Final Results
The app was a hit with the stakeholders and GISA gave its approval to convert the prototype into a final working mobile app. Beautiful, engaging with latest visual components. The app was built to be fast, efficient and to provide a delightful experience to all the insurers utilizing its functionality.
