Improving Filter Usability
myToys offers a vast range of products, and users frequently rely on filters to refine their search results and reduce cognitive effort. As a UX/UI designer, I developed two filter versions for users to compare, aiming to determine which design helps them more effectively narrow down their product selection.
Prototyping and Usability Testing
I conducted usability tests with several myToys users, presenting them with two versions in random order: Version A, where filter choices were expanded on the same page, and Version B, where filter choices were displayed on a separate page. I designed high-fidelity interactive prototypes to ensure that users could concentrate on the tasks during usability testing, rather than being distracted by visual elements. Users compared the two versions and provided feedback on which they found more useful and why. As a UX researcher, I carefully analysed the data and made design recommendations for further development.
