Logo design for an old friend and his custom workshop.

As with any project, we started exploring various directions, deciding we wanted to focus on a combination of a logotype and something mechanical to anchor it all.

Once defined, we explored subtle colour variations and how we wanted to treat contrast within the design. Understanding it needed to stand alone with a single colour for etching and engraving potential, we also wanted a splash of colour to bring it to life a little more when needed.

In the end, we decided subtlety was key here, and opted to maintain colour in a simple and non-obtrusive way, keeping it in highlights instead of a main element.

This allowed for the design to work seamlessly across all potential media and physical applications, irrespective of colour intentions.
