Love Your Craft

If you live for the applause, then you'll die by the silence.

I have a peculiar love for the "Debut Shots" page, as well as speaking with young, passionate artists that are curious to learn about and enter into world of professional design and illustration. So here is a simple reminder that I often share with young artist — Always welcome the critique of your peers, learn from them, and accept their applause when they want to congratulate a job well done, but always remember why you pursued art in the first place. Never forget your love for the craft, and love your craft – not just the attention that it brings you.
