A political party I'd be excited to vote for

To celebrate the anxiety and general chaos of an election year, I challenged myself to design a silly poster for a political campaign that I’d be excited to vote for.

Like any sane American, I made the obvious choice: beans. I know what you’re thinking — they don’t meet the 35 year old age requirement for the presidency, and many of them weren’t grown on American soil, disqualifying them from the race. Nevertheless, I pushed forward, and this is the result! I think this campaign could go all the way to the Whitehouse.

Jokes aside, I had a lot of fun with this illustration. I’ve always loved the look and feeling of custom typography, but have been intimidated to tackle designing it myself. The pure silliness of this design allowed me to turn off that pesky, anxious voice in my head and just have fun designing. I impressed myself with the result, and feel excited to continue to improve my hand-lettering skills with more (likely just as silly) illustrations.

All to say, in a world of never-ending political campaigns and candidates you’re only marginally excited to vote for, remember: vote bean! (And invest in custom typography for your marketing campaigns.)
