I’m working on a picture book about Rosie, a curious little girl, and her mum, traveling jam merchants, who arrive in the gloomy village of Dreary Dell. The villagers have forgotten how to smile, greet one another, or dream. But with the help of Mrs. Flowers, Rosie hatches a plan to share crops, spark laughter, and sprinkle joy back into their hearts—bringing color and magic to the village once more.

Daisy Doughnut, better known as Mrs. Baker or Widow Baker, is, as you'd expect, the village baker. She dreams of shedding a few pounds, but her secret love affair with cupcakes always wins. She sneaks them when no one is watching, only to feel bitter and guilty afterward.
