BookSwap embodies my vision to tackle the growing issue of library closures across the UK. Libraries have long served as vital third spaces—neutral environments where people can gather, learn, and connect. Recognising the need to preserve this sense of community amidst their decline, I set out to design a platform that brings people together through their shared love of books. BookSwap not only encourages the exchange of stories but also revitalises the concept of communal spaces in a digital age. By blending technology with a mission for community-building, this app acts as the gateway to a network where users can discover available books, search for specific titles, and explore local exchanges through interactive maps, fostering meaningful connections and reigniting a sense of belonging.
