The Death of the Artist III/III

The phone, social media, and the expectations of strangers are the true killers of creativity and the artist. We live in a world where working under the watchful eyes of so many people—judging you, deciding what’s good or not, what’s art or not—creates unbearable pressure.

It’s like trying to dance with a spotlight on you while watching, in real time, other talented artists perform. This setup is almost a perfect formula for insecurity, feelings of inferiority, and, eventually, the urge to give up.

But what if that pressure wasn’t just a burden?

The Death of the Artist is a series of thoughts born from my therapy journal over the past month. Reflecting on this was uncomfortable but also liberating. I realized I’m not alone.

This pain, this weight, isn’t just mine; it’s shared by so many other creatives. Knowing that gave me relief and the courage to keep going, even with all the external expectations pushing us in the opposite direction.

After all, creating is resisting. And resisting is living.
