Poster – Art Deco Exhibition

The brief was to create an exhibition poster inspired by a chosen era, movement, or artist from design history.

I chose Art Deco because, after researching and learning about it, I developed a strong appreciation for its style. Art Deco is characterized by simplicity, planarity, geometric shapes, bold color contrasts, sans-serif typefaces, and more—elements that still resonate in modern design today.

I used opacity, texture, shapes, and a specific color scheme to create this poster. The woman featured in the design symbolizes the changing status and roles of women in society.

Art Deco was a defining era for graphic design and continues to influence our lives today.
