This artwork was inspired by the song "Thoughts" ("Думи") by Artem Pivovarov and Nadia Dorofeeva, which is based on the poem "Dumy" by Taras Shevchenko, the most famous Ukrainian writer.
While working on this artwork, I thought about the situation that occurred in Ukraine in 2024. On July 8th, due to a Russian attack, the most famous children's hospital in the country, Okhmatdyt, was damaged, specifically the department for children with cancer. This artwork is dedicated to all the children who are forced to fight severe illnesses but dream of a bright, kind, and good future. These paper airplanes symbolise the dreams of each child, which I hope will one day come true.
