"It's Harvest Season!" Concept Art
“It’s Harvest Season!” is a concept art and illustration inspired by the agricultural culture in Indonesia, especially in Java, with fun ideas where the characters are animals. In Java, there are so many rice fields, because Indonesia’s staple food is rice.
The illustration tells about the three farmers' friends, a buffalo, a frog, and a turtle, who want to begin their lunch break during the paddy harvesting. There are the things that are familiar to the farmers in Indonesia such as caping - a traditional cap that is usually used by the farmer, saung - a small semi-permanent building in the field that is used by farmers to break and wait for fields, and rantang - a stacking lunch box made by metal.
Character Design
The characters are a frog, who is very energetic and cheerful, he wears “lurik” - a traditional woven fabric from Java, “lurik” in Javanese means stripes, a turtle who is very calm and carefree, and the last a buffalo who is friendly and chill, he wears batik - a traditional patterned fabric from Java with “Kawung” pattern.
