Artistic Composition

We were tasked with taking pictures for an exhibition named OUR CITY. The images would come together to make a triptych. The photos are authentic stills of Cape Town that have an artistic flare and intimate feel.

The mood is artist, authentic and intimate.

I chose to photography something that's very authentic to Cape Town, the MyCiti busses and stations. They take Capetonians all over Cape Town. From obz to your home and more!

As a person who takes the bus everyday, I find that it meets this assignment well. The bus is intimate, you stand shoulder to shoulder with fellow bus riders and strangers. Everyone is in a rush, which very clearly captures the busy Cape Town city aura. You pick up on peoples lives, and see patterns. you'll notice people and stories unfolding, even if you're there for one trip.

And on a slow empty day, You'll find yourself looking around the bus or bus station and just thinking of all that has happened there, is happening there, and will happen.
