Pla:ngo — implementation of a modern SaaS solution with a focus

The platform’s activities are aimed at successfully implementing ESG programs and creating a positive impact. The platform also helps to find partners, promotes large-scale and effective cross-sectoral cooperation, providing transparent and reliable partnership solutions.

We have been working on the Plango project for about six months. Despite the existing old layouts, we decided not to use them. Instead, we completely redesigned the logic, navigation, and created a new design. We kept only the color scheme from the previous style, adapting it to modern requirements and a new approach.

We’ll share what we’ve done, how it works, and why it’s important going forward.

Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) is a set of characteristics of a company’s management that ensures that the company is involved in solving environmental, social, and governance issues.

Challenges

The project team provided us with the existing style, based on which we developed a new website design and designed its structure. We adapted the style to modern requirements while maintaining functionality to ensure easy navigation for users.

Research

We launched a project to research the subject area and analyze competitors based on the collected data. This allowed our team to develop a detailed user flow scenario and sitemap.

Design stages

At the design stage, our team created a design system, as we used a systematic approach in this project. The main focus was on usability: the system was developed as a modular solution so that a new user could easily understand it without the need for lengthy training.

The main features of the platform include partner search, improved navigation, project creation in collaboration with non-profit organizations, employee search, and communication with partners through the messaging function right on the platform.

Registration

We have worked in detail on the registration stage of the platform, minimizing unnecessary steps and actions to make the process as simple as possible and avoid irritation for users. When registering, the user first finds or registers their company or brand, and then adds personal data.

Questionnaire

The questionnaire stage has been thoroughly improved to allow users to tell us more about their company. The question-and-answer format now contains only seven questions, instead of the much larger number that was previously used. We have divided the questionnaire into separate screens for each question, which allows users to focus on each question separately, without distractions. Previously, the questionnaire was concentrated on one page with a large number of questions and answers, which made it difficult to navigate.

Organization profile

Our team has designed an organization profile setting that allows you to change all aspects — from the avatar and organization name to the choice of widgets displayed on the page. We have implemented various display options for both the administrator and the user. Each organization can now add its own projects to be displayed on the page. In addition, we have added the ability to include contact details, awards, documents, and other important information, making the profile as informative and user-friendly as possible.

Project page

We developed the project page in several states to ensure maximum convenience and functionality. The page contains all the important information about the project: start and end dates, statistics and graphs for visualization, as well as the ability to attach files and other materials. This allows users to get a complete overview of the project at any time.

Colors and style

The client came to us with a previously approved color concept, as they already had an existing branding and these colors could be used in the project. However, we still added new shades, as the provided palette was not enough to fulfill the tasks of this project. This allowed us to give the design more depth and expressiveness.

Integrated chat for communication

We have integrated a convenient chat directly into the platform to ensure effective communication between organizations and team members. Thanks to this solution, users no longer need to leave the platform to discuss projects or resolve other issues.

We added messaging functionality without the need to log out. This makes it easy to stay in touch about specific projects, quickly find new investors, communicate with them quickly, and attach the necessary files directly in the platform.

Universal responsiveness

We developed the entire project with a responsive version in mind so that it would be perfectly displayed on all popular devices, including mobile phones and desktops. Thanks to careful adaptation, we ensured flawless performance and usability regardless of the type of device, making the interface intuitive and accessible to all users.

Status navigation

We introduced a status system for each flow, as they were quite voluminous and included a large number of screens. We divided each flow into separate pages for ease of use. We also implemented a status system with colored circles, which allowed the development team to easily navigate the status of each flow. This helped to quickly determine which feature was ready for use and which was still in development. In addition, our gold standard is to always use consistent styles, fonts, and colors, ensuring visual integrity and high quality throughout the project.
