Here is another AI-driven tool designed to boost newsroom efficiency. This proof-of-concept uses AI to help journalists place paywalls at the best spots in an article to boost reader engagement and subscriptions. The AI suggests a spot, predicts the likely conversion rate, and lets journalists adjust if needed.
Before publication, the AI suggests an optimal paywall position—usually 10-20% into the article—based on where the story becomes most engaging. Journalists can accept or adjust the AI-suggested placement if needed.
If the journalist adjusts the paywall, it triggers a recalculation of the conversion forecast.
The system warns that the new position may reduce conversions. To maintain the best predicted conversion rate, journalists may revert to the original suggested spot.
