Here’s a peek into the lo-fi design for the onboarding process of a mobile app I’m working on!
In today’s digital world, Know Your Customer (KYC) processes have become essential. Gone are the days of lengthy, in-person verifications; now, digital solutions make it faster and more convenient to verify user identities while maintaining security.
Designing a KYC process can be daunting as it is essential to capture every detail of an intending user while also, simplifying the process.
This onboarding flow includes key steps:
ID Verification: Users can upload their License ID, Membership License, or NIN, simplifying identity confirmation with minimal friction.
Portfolio Setup: This step allows users to upload images and videos of their past work, making it easier to build credibility and showcase skills.
Location Setup: Adding address details helps enhance personalization and unlock location-based features for users, with a map for easy navigation.

Each screen is intentionally kept clean and simple, focusing on minimal input fields and a single call-to-action button. This approach not only improves usability but also reduces cognitive load, making the onboarding journey feel lighter and more intuitive.
💼Why This Matters:
KYC procedures are now a fundamental part of the user experience in sectors like finance, healthcare, e-commerce, and even social media. Strong digital verification creates trust and allows businesses to comply with regulatory standards, all while enhancing security for both companies and users.
