Special characteristics:

- white feathers, gorgeous smile;

- always wears a bowtie;

- you will never see him without his trusty black umbrella that has all sorts of nifty gadgets hidden in it;

- smokes a soap bubble pipe;

- wears a monocle;

Rought sketch & brainstorming

The first sketch of Sherlock. My father had the whole collection of Conan Doyle's Sherlock series, I read it at least twice (yes, I am a bookworm and I re-read books I love). This is my little tribute to the world-famous detective. 

As the character that inspired him, this crow is not ordinary, he doesn't fit in (he is a white crow, in Latvia we have an expression where you call someone who does not fit in a white crow).

At first, as you can see below, he was supposed to be black, but when I tried to color and re-color the character things just seemed off. This is when it dawned on me, he already has all the color he needs, just a hint of his (and mine) favourite color to compliment his gorgeous plumage will do.
