Adaptative Subdiv / Moglyph ShaderFX
The upcoming MoglyphFX V4 version will include a new effector called "Shader FX" (like Cinema4D's one) that will allow to create very interesting (if not impossible to achieve otherwise) new effects.
This example uses a second layer called "Shader FX Map (edit content)" that has been precomped and that - as its name suggests - replace for your needs. It is referenced as the "Shader Layer Map" in the Moglyph CLONER Grid layer's EFFECTOR Shader effect so it is already setup for you, but you can chose another layer if needed.
The use of the "MoGlyph-PixelMatrix" font and the "Offset Glyph" parameter in the Shader Effector will give the impression that the grid is subdivided recursively based on the Luminance of the Map (which is a simple looping noise in this case).
The darker the pixels of the map are, the more subdivisions will be added to the grid cell.
The effect can be inverted with the "Invert Map" checkbox, and we can also use RGB channels separately instead of the default Luminance in the "Map Color Channel" dropdown, to create even more advanced setups. This example car also be used to try other kind of patterns, like scaling/offsetting stroke thickness with geometric glyphs, or even faked ASCII with custom fonts!
Beware of the count of clones though ; the higher count you'll add, the slower the setup will become (if you have more than 64 glyphs in your cloner and try to apply a new Shader FX, you'll be warned with a confirm modal window)!
