Puerto Escondido: Curándome

I moved to Puerto Escondido after leaving a problematic ex in Mexico City after he cleaned out my bank account. The same month, the Chinese government passed a law prohibiting Chinese nationals from contracting foreign teachers without visas to work in China, effectively outlawing China's massive remote English education market. The company I worked for crashed overnight, along with every other Chinese TEFL company.

Shortly thereafter, I was asked by a representative of a non-profit in Puerto Escondido to come and paint a mural. I told the representative that if they housed me for that time, I would come and paint free of charge. She paid for my flight from Mexico City to Puerto Escondido and put me up in this space, where I began to heal.
