Inkygoodness Community Badges
I’m a proud member of the the global creative community Inkygoodness, run by the one and only Lisa Hassell. In May 2024 we started working together, creating some community badges to adorn members' profiles, within the network's digital platform. We covered things like co-host, mentor and various awards, challenges and courses. It was such a fun project to work on, and a great way to contribute to the collective.

Here's a peak at my initial drawings, before the badges were vectorized in Adobe Illustrator. I always share line drawings with my clients before creating the final artwork, in case they have amends. It makes the process quicker if revisions are made at this stage.
I created initial sketches, which were developed into clean line drawings for presentation. These were then refined through feedback until we arrived at the perfect designs. Following on, I produced colour drafts for approval. Once these were agreed upon, vector versions were created for the final artwork.
No matter how good your relationship is with your client, inevitably sometimes you just won’t hit the mark first time. The important thing is to have an open dialogue, communicate well, and take on constructive feedback when it’s given. Below I’ve illustrated a few instances where I didn’t nail the concept with my first attempt. I’ve shown the client’s feedback and how I responded with my next version.
When badges are awarded to members, they appear on their profile pages in the Inkygoodness Collective online community. Below you can view how this appears within the network's UI on mobile and tablet devices.
Whilst it's great to have badges assigned digitally, I think it's always nice to have something tangible. These designs would make awesome stickers, so I decided to visualise how that might look. You can see the results below, and who knows, they may become a reality yet!
