🤖LinkedIn AI Usage Transparency

I'll be honest—I'm probably one of the first to admit it: when I create these posts and newsletters, I crank them through Grammarly more times than I care to count. And yes, I often enlist the help of generative AI to polish my writing. Honestly, if it weren’t for the convenience of AI turning my clunky, wordy sentences into something halfway coherent, I might not do it at all.

But here’s the kicker: I know I’m not alone in this, which got me thinking…

What If... LinkedIn introduced a badge to indicate when generative AI has heavily edited a post. Imagine the conversations that would spark! People would know the "real" talent behind the posts, whether it’s human creativity or a sophisticated algorithm at work.

Now, I can already see my future posts proudly displaying that badge—and while it might make me look a tad less authentic, it could also encourage me to refine my writing skills. After all, do we really want a world where every thought is polished to perfection, stripped of our unique voices?

As more folks embrace generative AI, the potential for authenticity to take a back seat grows. It’s a dilemma worth pondering: does it matter if our words are touched by a digital hand?

What about you? Would you wear that badge or strive to keep your posts purely your own?
