Warm Wooden Toy

I have a set of wooden toys that I have been playing with more and more recently. For my last GIF, "January Stripes" I used some of the toy's rainbow of stained blocks as color inspiration. Since then, I haven't been able to stop thinking about how cool it would be to see some the the wooden pieces moving on their own. So I pulled out some of the wood textures I used for my "Kokeshi" design, and built this small scene.

Something about the warmth of a wooden toy makes it more memorable than most of the plastic stuff from my childhood. Something about the tactile experience leaves a memory that's just more... memorable. Perhaps that's why I found myself returning to this toy for inspiration over and over. There was even a design I made a few years ago named "Decaballs" that was clearly inspired by these.
