Designing the Brand and Visual direction for TEDx Viikki

As the Creative Director for TEDx Viikki’s maiden edition, I shaped a cohesive brand identity that embodied the theme "Co-creating Our Stories." I designed an integrated visual language across digital, print, and event signage, ensuring a consistent and engaging experience for over 1,000 attendees. Collaborating closely with the Communication team, I translated the event’s theme into compelling narratives and visuals. By balancing creativity with meticulous planning, I delivered a memorable brand identity that successfully set the foundation for TEDx Viikki's legacy.

Designs for Social Media Marketing

Leading the design efforts for our social media strategy was a thrilling challenge. My team and I crafted a series of visuals, from bold speaker highlights to targeted promotions like student ticket campaigns. Each piece was designed to maximize engagement across platforms, utilizing creative layouts and on-brand aesthetics. I collaborated closely with the marketing team to align on messaging and ensure the graphics for our SM ads communicated our values, resulting in strong ticket sales and amplified buzz around TEDx Viikki

Designs for Offline Marketing

Translating the TEDx Viikki brand into offline materials was another rewarding aspect of my role. I spearheaded the creation of posters, banners, and billboards designed to captivate attention in busy urban settings. These pieces combined clear messaging with bold visuals, ensuring TEDx Viikki stood out in Helsinki’s bustling streets. Seeing my designs displayed prominently in the city underscored the impact of cohesive branding across mediums.

Designs for Print

The tangible touchpoints of the event—lanyards, speaker tags, and event programs—were among my favorite projects. I focused on every detail to ensure these printed materials not only looked professional but also served as memorable keepsakes for attendees. Balancing functionality and aesthetic appeal, I designed these pieces to reflect the sophistication and creativity of the TEDx brand, leaving a lasting impression on guests.

Seeing TEDx Viikki sell out was a moment of pride and validation for the entire team. My design work played a key role in driving this success, as visually compelling marketing materials created excitement and trust. From the bold social media campaigns to the attention-grabbing billboards, every touchpoint resonated with the audience and contributed to this achievement.
