Having smart devices connected to your home is great—until you realize you’ve got so many apps that finding the right one to turn off the light could take longer than just getting up and doing it yourself. Seriously, I’ve timed it, and it got me thinking:

What If... you could access smart home devices directly from the iOS Control Center? Imagine a quick swipe giving you access to Alexa, your garage door opener, or whatever other gadget you need—no more hunting through countless apps like a digital scavenger hunt.

And here’s a wild idea: what if we could assign default actions right there? You could easily open or close the garage door or lock and unlock the front door without breaking a sweat.

To be truly smart, smart home utilities need to be accessible instantly; otherwise, they’re forcing you to face the harsh truth: sometimes, the old-school method of getting off the couch might win.
