Branding for a hotel in Edinburgh
Our hotel is deeply embedded in the heritage of Edinburgh, with nods to its historical past found throughout the property. Edinburgh’s legends come to life in the stories we tell through our design and experience. Inside, guests will find a balance of ancient and contemporary, with modern amenities harmoniously blending with the timeless essence of Scottish culture. The restaurant’s design subtly incorporates elements of a traditional Scottish tavern, where echoes of old-time revelry mingle with the sleek, elegant touches of today.
The illustrative part of the logo depicts a unicorn, a symbol and a national animal of Scotland. It represents granting comfort and reprieve, the warmth and the vibrancy of culture, history, mythology, and a connection to nature. The unicorn is overlooking a boiling, smoking pot, which represents the name "Embers and Mist", giving the logo a mysterious air of myths and legends and depicting the restaurant with an old tavern twist that is a part of the hotel. It radiates warmth, coziness and the atmosphere of old tales. The font part of the logo also has an old-timey, vintage air, but it’s also lively, fairy-tale like and readable, correlating with the unicorn part. The font decision is simple, yet creative and memorable.
We strive for a clean, minimalistic design with lots of air, incorporating the beauty of the city and nature with illustrations and the brand philosophy with typography and photography style in natural, cozy colours and tones. For travelers seeking to immerse themselves in the essence of Edinburgh,
