UX/UI design of app: Peerio
During this project (2017-2018) I collaborated with other designers to create a mobile application focused on top-tier security for both chat and file storage.
We worked seamlessly as a team, dividing tasks for key features and leveraging each other’s strengths to ensure a cohesive, secure, and user-friendly experience. Our collaboration involved workshops, research and continuous feedback loops, making sure every element—from UI to encryption protocols—aligned with the app’s security goals while delivering a smooth user experience.
Designing a cross-platform experience
As designers for Peerio, our approach was always rooted in crafting a seamless, cohesive experience across mobile, tablet, and desktop platforms. Our goal was to make sure that, regardless of the device, users would feel that familiar Peerio touch — intuitive, secure, and visually consistent.
UX Research
I actively contribute beyond design work by applying my research expertise to drive user-centered solutions. This includes leading usability studies, guerrilla research, prototype testing, and more—not only for my designs but across projects whenever needed to support the entire design team. I regularly present insights and refine designs based on findings, ensuring a consistently high standard of usability and a strong focus on user needs throughout the product development process.
Below is an example of one of the four personas I created as a rust of research:
Design system
The design system played a crucial role not just during the product design process and rebranding phase but also throughout the acquisition process. It provided a unified and cohesive user experience, which facilitated smoother adaptation and scalability as the team expanded.
Below is an image of component library created in Figma (please note in 2017 Figma features were limited and the use was slightly different):
Success: acquisition by WorkJam
The Peerio app was successfully acquired by WorkJam in 2018, where its features were integrated into the WorkJam platform. I played a key role in ensuring seamless UI and brand alignment between the two applications during this transition.
