Altrincham & District Athletic Club website design
Our website design for Altrincham & District Athletic Club [ADAC] is a remix of their already decent website and a freshly-branded gazebo from Event Branding UK. We’ve used their gazebo mockup image below, mentioning for DMCA reasons but mainly because we love the branding they did and giving shout-outs!
The club needed easier access for their members to update the website plus a new look and structure to accommodate the branding. We used Webcollect to provide the admin interface and embedding for training schedules and events.xt here...
While getting stuck into the website design mockups we noted the low quality of the existing ADAC logo. After being told it was hand-drawn in the 60s we were also told that the cheetah was untouchable in terms of its form and position within the logo if we were going to try to improve it.
We always politely flag low quality logos and photos and see if we can do a quick redraw. It can be a tricky subject if the point of contact doesn’t have graphic design knowledge because you’re being paid to do a website and then all of a sudden it sounds like you’re trying to upsell another service. It’s a case of trying to explain why a vector logo is near enough essential, especially if you’re buying gazebos and signs where your logo will be printed big.
Anyway, that 60s thing is actually pretty nice so we stuck the ‘EST 1961’ on there to see if anyone at the club would like it – it passed!
