The strategy behind the Dolby.io design system unifies the brand and its various product offerings, creating a seamless experience for users and developers. This system encompasses multiple Dolby.io properties, including the website, marketing site, dashboard, documentation, support channels, and commercial applications like DolbyOn.
Utilizing a master design token and component library, the design system facilitates componentized applications across diverse use cases. Sample web applications such as the Real-time Streaming Monitor, Interactive Multiviewer, Music Mastering, Watch with Others, Video Call, and others to serve as practical references for both internal teams and external partners.
The framework includes a universal design system that acts as a visual guide and foundation for sub-systems organized within the Dolby Figma organization. Key deliverables consist of sub-systems for the website and mobile applications, along with a component kit for developers. Tools like Figma, Box, Aha, Storybook, and Zero Height are employed to improve collaboration and efficiency among design and development teams.
