Overview

MyHotTub was looking to take advantage of the holiday and run a sale for 4th of July. Since a lot of families are outside grilling in their backyards on Independence day, they'll most likely be tidying up and getting ready to host. This is a prime time for those who host parties for friends and family to think about ways to improve their backyard and the experience they can provide to guests. Since backyard improvement is already on homeowners minds, we wanted to encourage those people to purchase a hot tub as a way to celebrate the holiday.

Solution

Straying a bit from MyHotTub's traditional branding, we opted for a highly patriotic look to these ads. This was due to the fact that our demographic of homeowners is a bit older, in the 35-55 age range, and they are more likely to be able to afford a hot tub. The patriotic font treatment, United States flag colors, and white washed gradient over a flowing American flag emulates the quintessential American imagery that those aged 35-55 grew up seeing in magazines and advertisements. This invokes a sense of nostalgia mixed with the excitement of being able to provide a wonderful 4th of July experience to family and friends via a new hot tub.

Results + Impact

By focusing in on the target audience and the emotion behind the purchasing a hot tub, the ads yielded some stellar results that boosted MyHotTub's overall revenue for the month of July.
