Umbrellabird is an AI-powered software designed to improve the efficiency of product managers and user researchers. It listens to uploaded, pre-recorded conversations and extracts key insights based on user-defined parameters, simplifying the process of creating essential documents like Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and FAQs.

After successfully launching the MVP version, we collected user feedback through support tickets and interviews. While users appreciated the platform's impressive ability to process videos and generate valuable insights, they reported spending too much time navigating the interface.

Simple tasks, such as creating and organizing folders or providing feedback on uploaded videos, were not easily accessible, despite being integrated into the app. This lack of intuitiveness and accessibility led to user frustration, revealing that the overall user experience required significant improvement.

What I did

To address the challenges highlighted in user feedback, I led a UX/UI redesign of Umbrellabird, focusing on streamlining user flows and enhancing accessibility. The key goals of the redesign included:

Upload Management

◆ Create a centralized hub for all uploads

◆ Develop a dashboard to provide users with actionable insights

◆ Enable pinning, highlighting, or marking insights for quick access and prioritization

Collaborative Workspaces

◆ Design dedicated sections for better organization

◆ Integrate sharing and invitation features for improved team management

Enhanced Video Synthesis Flow

◆ Design upload status indicators to enhance user feedback and set clear expectations

◆ Design dedicated and accessible button for faster video upload

Overhaul UI design

◆ Intoduce dark themed UI
