Dirt To Damascus Poster Design

About

I created the poster design for a film which was made by Warwood Tool and Cabot Guns.

The goal was here is to showhing  the method how the damasc steel borns in an aristic way. This symbolism of the four elements of nature and the elements that the blacksmith use along the process: EARTH - The iron ore comes from the dirt, WIND - The whirling wind from the desert which brings sand, and ignites the FIRE - Which melting the iron ore, and WATER - here is represented with the blue sky.

Today, very few people still attempt to make steel with this method and instead rely on factory produced steel bars that are rolled to perfection and have little to no impurities in it. The steel made in this traditional method has a lot of character and visual identity of a Damascus steel bar. I tried to catch this moment on the poster.
