Retro Film Posters: Spy Film / Space Films
Exploring typeface options, weight and composition, and balancing imagery with key movie themes.
Re-creating my friend's favourite flicks and series – retro vibes only. Focusing solely on monochromatic schemes creates more emphasis on typography choices and layout.
Spy Film, "Casino Royale"
It was a close tie between the thin-styled font vs the more fluid style, but I opted to prioritize the "groovy" organic and bold shape it created on the page, creating a more decorative focus on typography.
Space Film, "Interstellar"
I reworked the imagery placement for this design – my goal was to find an impactful and clean way to incorporate the dualities of Murphy's character with the protagonist's. I ultimately chose the classic box-style to avoid the look and feel of "yearbook picture".
