A preface about the business of the company

Porteghal publication is one of the brands of the “BUN” holding. This publication company has started its business from 2015 in the field of children and teenagers’ fictions, and at this moment of speaking, it has published more than 10000 volumes in this field. By putting its pivotal concentration and effort on compilation and translation of didactic philosophical books for children and teenagers, it tries to put them on the path of self-consciousness, growth, and finally flourishment. Porteghal’s mission is to provide the best universal books for the children of Iran by preserving their copyrights. In addition, the publication company has won so many awards in the scope of children literature, such as “The Flying Turtle”.

Why was the issue of redesigning posed?

According to the received calls by the call center, and also the reactions of the followers of the website, we have been informed that most of the users face some problems in the process of purchasing. For the sake of the improvement of the users’ experience, and causing the users to shop online, along with the present website’s state of not being compatible to the designing standards, the website needs to be redesigned extensively, especially the designs of the first page till the online shopping basket. The complement of the redesigning and needs of the business and the users is a necessity.

User Research

The first step of this research on the users for the new website of “Porteghal” has been accomplished by distributing questionnaires among the followers of the Instagram page, the present website, and sending short messages to the recent customers. 2214 people answered our questionnaire. Then, in the second step of the research, 6 of the random representatives among the audience were interviewed remotely.

Persona Profile

The results of the research and the interviews with the users brought about the creation of an “interactive persona” of the circle of users in the website. It is worthy of mention that based on the similar attitudes of the users of different ages toward the website, only one main persona has been considered

Results

  • By segregating and ordering the filters on PLP page, the speed of finding the intended book has increased.
