AsiaNews Landing Page Redesign
AsiaNews Landing Page Redesign – Enhancing Readability and User Focus
Project Type: Redesign, Unfinished
I redesigned the landing page for AsiaNews, an economic newspaper in Iran, to improve user focus, simplify the layout, and enhance usability. The goal was to address issues like overuse of colors, ad clutter, and inefficient content organization.
Key Redesign Highlights
Streamlined Header Design
Included essential real-time information such as currency changes, location-based temperature, and the date in both Persian and Gregorian calendars.
Added language selection, login, and subscription options to improve accessibility and engagement.
Improved Content Display
Replaced the inefficient post slider with a headline section, categorizing news for better organization and introducing a link to a ‘Today’s News’ page.
Reduced page scroll by introducing tabs to categorize news and display the latest updates at a glance.
Added a ‘More News’ button for users to explore older articles.
Ad Placement Optimization
Relocated ads to a sidebar, ensuring they no longer distracted from the main content.
Footer Update
Consolidated primary categories and links for intuitive navigation and usability.
Research & Design Process
Conducted heatmap analysis to understand user behavior and guide layout improvements.
Benchmarked against leading news websites like FoxNews, NY Times, and CNN to incorporate best practices.
Designed high-fidelity prototypes in Adobe XD.
While my contributions were limited to the landing page, this redesign laid the groundwork for a more user-focused website. Further development on other pages did not continue after I left the company.
