Mingo: Mobile Game

Mingo is a game development project I’m currently working on, designed as a platforming/rogue-like experience specifically tailored for mobile platforms. 

The goal is to create a full-game platformer experience suitable for all ages, addressing challenges like mobile’s vertical screen orientation and clunky on-screen controls, which often hinder traditional platformers. The game aims to break from the norm of rogue-likes that are typically geared toward older audiences with high difficulty levels, providing a more accessible and fun experience for everyone.

Throughout the development process, I’ve focused on building key mechanics, including a level spawning system for a run-based experience, character state machines, and designing animations and environments. While the project is still in progress, it has been a learning platform for me to refine core mechanics, test collisions, track object collection, and debug.

The game is being built with mobile-first principles, so web responsiveness and performance are not yet optimized for browsers.
