Under The Chopins’ Sails

STS Fryderyk Chopin is one of the largest Polish sailing ships. On board it, the „Blue School” programme cruises take place. It also takes part in The Tall Ships Races regatta, where it holds top positions, and for the past three years it has won the Class A regatta. Almost 60 metres long, she was built in 1992.

You are just looking at the second largest sail of the ship – the foresail. In addition to it, the ship has 22 other sails with a total area of 1,200 square metres!

I took this photo in October 2022 when I attended a 'Blue School’ cruise on board Chopin. At the time the photo was taken, we were in the Strait of Gibraltar.
