Craftsman Bench With Storage

I built a Craftsman-style bench with storage.  The design cues for this bench came from my client’s Downtown Denver home, which was built in the craftsman style.  Design details were drawn from elements in the house, including the rope molding that mirrors the rope detailing in the wainscoting. The stain color closely matches the home’s existing woodwork; though it’s unclear if the original stain was refinished over time, the bench seamlessly complements the entryway. Additionally, the top is equipped with torsion hinges to prevent the lid from slamming shut.
